Complete Guide to Managing Your Team

This guide provides detailed instructions on creating, managing, and committing your Tour of Bright team. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth experience. For a quick overview of the Teams Category, see the How It Works page.

1
Creating a Team

To create a new team:

  1. Go to the Create Team page.
  2. Select your team type: Grade Team (all riders in the same grade) or Open Team (mixed grades).
  3. Enter your team name.
  4. If creating a Grade Team, select the grade.
  5. Enter your details as the Team Leader (name, email, AusCycling license number, and grade).
  6. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
  7. Click "Create Team".

Important: When you create a team, you are automatically added as the first rider and designated as the Team Leader. Only the Team Leader can commit the team.

After creating your team, you'll receive a unique Team Code. Save this code immediately! You'll need it to:

  • Share with other riders so they can join your team
  • Access your team area later

Warning: If you lose your Team Code, contact comms@5ringsprotocol.com with your team name or a rider in your team for assistance.

2
Adding Riders to Your Team

To add riders to your team:

  1. Share your Team Code with your teammates.
  2. Each rider should go to the Join Team page.
  3. They'll enter the Team Code and their personal details.
  4. After joining, they'll be added to your team roster.

Note: Teams must have a minimum of 3 riders and a maximum of 6 riders. You cannot commit a team with fewer than 3 riders.

You can view your current team roster by:

  1. Going to the Team Area page.
  2. Entering your Team Code.
  3. Viewing the list of riders who have joined.
3
Committing Your Team

Once you have at least 3 riders (including yourself), you can commit your team:

  1. Go to the Team Area page.
  2. Enter your Team Code.
  3. Scroll down to the "Team Commitment" section.
  4. Enter your AusCycling license number for verification.
  5. Click "Commit Team".

Important: Only the Team Leader (the person who created the team) can commit the team. The system will verify your identity using your AusCycling license number.

After committing:

  • Your team will appear on the Public Roster.
  • The team roster is final and cannot be changed.
  • Your team is officially entered in the Tour of Bright Teams Category.
4
During the Event

During the Tour of Bright:

  • Each rider will compete in their individual grade as normal.
  • Points are awarded based on finishing position in each rider's grade.
  • Your team score will be the average of all your team riders' results in each stage.
  • To be eligible for the Teams Classification, a minimum of 3 riders from your team must complete all stages of the race.
  • Team standings will be announced at the Saturday night presentations.
  • Final team results will be announced after Stage 3 on Sunday.

Scoring: Lower points are better! 1st place = 1 point, 10th place = 10 points, etc. Points are averaged from all your team riders, and the team with the lowest average score wins.
